About Me

Hi! I’m Emma Kacher — I’m born and raised in Palo Alto California, where I fell in love with performing arts through ventriloquism in fifth grade, which lead me to the theater.

Since then, I’ve spent summers training at Stagedoor Manor, UCLA’s Musical Theater Summer Institute, working on shows and projects including the MTI pilot production of Come From Away (High School Version).

At Menlo School, I combine my creativity and academic drive. In 2024, in an Independent Project Capstone class I wrote a research paper on social impacts in post-war Broadway musicals. For two years, I’ve been Menlo Drama’s social media manager and student club leader. I also perform and direct in shows, with favorites including assistant directing Humbug! A Menlo Carol and Bea in Something Rotten!

I recently wrote my own original play, (Rem)ember, set during the LA fires, exploring themes of family, identity, and independence. Creating it reminded me how much I love storytelling that is both imaginative and emotionally honest. [click here to read a scene and synopsis]

For the past two years I have worked with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, writing, directing, acting and producing educational videos for children with Eosinophilic Esophagitis, a chronic disease my brother has, helping kids to better understand the condition and the medical procedures that come with it.

When I am not performing or writing, I like to spend my time being active, weather I’m skiing with my family, paddle boarding on Lake Tahoe, or on an outdoor excursion with my school community. I always love to be outdoors!
